As we enter a new decade its time to analyze the most important watches of the last 10 years. These watches have created history and defined the standard for the brands and the industry. According to a Hodinkee panel of Journalists, these are the top watches of the past decade. Lets take a deep dive into them...

In chronological order by the year of first release

MB&F Legacy Machine One

In 2011 Maximilian Büsser the Swiss entrepreneur and founder of the high-end brand MB&F launched the gorgeous yet technically innovative Legacy Machine One. This innovation brought so much commercial and critical success . The Legacy Machine One won the public prize for the best mens watch at the 2011 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG).

It features a front-side floating balance wheel, dual time-display (independently), and vertical power reserve. It measures 44mm and was originally available in red and white gold

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15202ST

The only true living relative to Gerald Gentas masterful design in 1972. See article on 15202 vs 15500. The relaunch of this classic timepiece in 2012 only made very minor detail changes to the orignal reference prooving how classic the 1972 design remains relevant over the years

Tudor Black Bay 79220R

The Tudor Black Bay ref. 79220R was launched in BaselWorld 2012, offerered  a retro twist to the legendary Submariner design, combining  elements from several eras. The Black Bay has now attained cult status amongst collectors

In 2013 Richard Mille created a very special version of the RM27-01 Rafael Nadal Tourbillon EXTRA LIGHT weighing only 19 grammes! made out of Carbon nanotubes.

One of the most facinating swiss watches ever released. In 2013 Baselworld, Swatch released the world's first mechanical movement constructed entirely by automated assembly. With only fifty one components and a ninety hour power reserve and an incredibly low price point, the buzz created around this watch was truly justified.

The much awaited release of the Rolex Daytona in a ceramic bezel certainly caused the biggest buzz of the decade. This watch was really the watch which introduced the "waiting list" culture with waitlists in years to get one from an authorized dealer.
